Fit Out Manager, Retail Mall

We are growing our Centre Management team with two new retail centre management projects in Putrajaya. We are seeking dynamic, innovative and a motivated Fit-Out Manager to lead a team to achieve innovative fit-out design standards and coordinate seamless processes in design submissions, approvals and compliance

Responsibilities:

  • To develop and set the fit-out design concept and strategy
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the fit-out team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and manage a team to execute the entire fit-out and reinstatement process, fostering collaboration between internal and external parties.
  • Oversee and ensure tenant design submissions align with retail mall standards, local legislation, and mall guidelines, maintaining adherence to fit-out standards schedules and in compliance
    with centres house rules.
  • Act as a key liaison with leasing, operations and facilities management throughout the fit-out process for new tenant onboarding and tenant change requests.
  • Review and enhance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), including the Fit-Out Manual and relevant forms/checklists.
  • Take full ownership of all aspects of tenants’ fit-out works, from design submission to site renovation, ensuring completion within challenging timelines.
  • Conduct fit-out gap findings and lead remedy closures during pre-opening inspections. Provide expertise in reconfiguration works with a sound understanding of M&E, structural and interior architecture requirements.
  • Manage and liaise relevant authorities to ensure compliance with reconfiguration works and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage contractor work permit approvals, documentations and records.
  • Act as the primary representative between the company and tenants on fit-out related matters, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Undertake and lead other strategic fit-out assignments as required.

Requirements:

  • Possess at least a Diploma/Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture & Interior Design or related disciplines.
  • Have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of working experience in shopping centre fit-out, with proven leadership experience.
  • Proficient with MS Office, other Office applications, and CAD software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Analytical mindset with excellent planning, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
